Suddenly, Secretary of State Marco Rubio gives US President Trump a note – is this already a scene for the history books?
A handwritten note from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Donald Trump played an important role in announcing the agreement between Israel and the Islamist Hamas.
“Very close,” read the note that Rubio passed to the president during a meeting with conservative influencers at the White House. Photographers captured the moment – as well as the text on the white sheet of stationery, as US media reported.
It continued: “You need to share a Truth Social post soon so you can be the first to announce the deal.”
Donald Trump should be the first to announce it
Trump looks surprised as he reads the note, then Rubio whispers something else in his ear. “I just received a message from the Secretary of State that we are close to an agreement on the Middle East and they will need me pretty quickly,” the President then says. Around two hours later, he announced the agreement on his online platform Truth Social.
The media associates the comment that he should be the first to announce this with Trump’s efforts to win the Nobel Peace Prize. This will be awarded tomorrow, Friday.
