US President Trump told the Israeli Parliament that he had personally spoken to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s conscience. The two disagree on one point.
From President Donald Trump’s perspective, the approval of the American peace plan for the Middle East has rehabilitated Israel on the world stage. The past few months have damaged the country’s reputation in the world, but a personal conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu brought about a change, Trump said in front of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset.

“I said, ‘Bibi, people are going to remember this a lot more than if you let this thing go on and on and on,'” Trump said. “And now I just want to congratulate you for having the courage to say, ‘That’s it, we won and now let’s enjoy our lives’.”
Shortly before Trump’s speech, the last 20 hostages kidnapped from Israel to the Gaza Strip were released. In return, Israel released Palestinian prisoners.
From US President Trump’s perspective, the Gaza war is over, despite the outstanding peace negotiations and several stumbling blocks. “The war is over,” said Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, had previously said that the fight was not over yet.
