Donald Trump and his Democratic predecessors Joe Biden and Bill Clinton are enemies of each other. However, in view of the ceasefire in the Gaza war, they praise the US President.
Praise from an unusual source for US President Donald Trump: His democratic predecessors Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, otherwise sharp critics of the Republican, credit him with achieving the ceasefire in the Gaza war. “I commend President Trump and his team for their work in bringing a new ceasefire agreement across the finish line,” Biden wrote on Platform X. With support from the US, the region and around the world, the Middle East is now on a path to peace.
Biden, who was president for four years until January 2025, also pointed to his own part in the ceasefire: “My administration has worked tirelessly to bring the hostages home, provide aid to Palestinian civilians and end the war.” Biden and Trump had repeatedly attacked each other in the past, with the Republican in particular often becoming personal and insulting his rival. Biden described Trump’s policies as divisive and undemocratic.

Bill Clinton also posted a statement on Platform Now Israel and the Islamist Hamas, with the support of the USA, must try to “transform this fragile moment into a lasting peace,” wrote the 79-year-old ex-president. “I believe they can do it, but only if they do it together.”

Bill Clinton was the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He is married to Hillary Clinton, who was defeated by Trump as the Democratic candidate in the 2016 US presidential election. In the past, Bill Clinton accused Trump of, among other things, egocentricity and criticized him for the fact that his policies only aimed at his own interests and did not focus on the well-being of the US population.
