Biden and Clinton praise Trump for ceasefire in Gaza

Praise from an unusual source for US President Donald Trump: His democratic predecessors Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, otherwise sharp critics of the Republican, credit him with achieving the ceasefire in the Gaza war. “I commend President Trump and his team for their work in bringing a new ceasefire agreement across the finish line,” Biden wrote on Platform X. Biden described Trump’s policies as divisive and undemocratic.

Bill Clinton also posted a statement on Platform Now Israel and the Islamist Hamas, with the support of the USA, must try to “transform this fragile moment into a lasting peace,” wrote the 79-year-old ex-president. “I believe they can do it, but only if they do it together.”

He is married to Hillary Clinton, who was defeated by Trump as the Democratic candidate in the 2016 US presidential election.
