The Russian military is again attacking energy facilities in Ukraine during the night. The target was also the capital Kyiv. There are initial reports of damage.

The Russian military has attacked targets in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with ballistic missiles. According to preliminary information from the Ukrainian Air Force, at least four rockets were used. A reporter from the German Press Agency heard a good twelve explosions in the center, mainly from anti-aircraft missiles.



A fire broke out in the southern district of Holossiyev, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram. Rocket debris fell in two other districts and at least one car was set on fire. According to military observers, the city’s two thermal power plants were the target of the attack.

According to authorities, there were also nine impacts from Russian combat drones in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, several Russian missiles and drones were also fired at the industrial city of Kamianske. There were initially no reports of possible damage or victims.

Several Russian combat drones had previously attacked the southern Ukrainian port city of Izmail on the Romanian border. Ukrainian public broadcaster reported explosions and power outages in the city on the Danube. Official confirmation of this was pending.




Ukraine has been resisting a Russian invasion for more than three and a half years. In the fall, the Russian military intensified attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities. There are repeated power outages in several areas of the Eastern European country. The start of the heating season for the district heating systems has already been postponed. In many regions, temperatures are already falling into the lower single digits at night.
