The money has already been budgeted for in various areas, explains Finance Minister Lindner. Praise comes from the Greens.
The federal government wants to invest around 200 billion euros in climate protection by 2026. Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner named this sum on Sunday evening in the ARD program “Report from Berlin”.
“I assume that by 2026 we will earmark around 200 billion euros for climate protection, charging infrastructure, hydrogen technology, the modernization of industry, and the abolition of the EEG surcharge to relieve people,” said the FDP Boss. He is now looking forward to proposals to speed up planning law and reduce bureaucracy so that these “enormous resources” can be used sensibly.
Green party leader Katharina Dröge described the 200 billion euros investment in climate protection in this legislative period as a “great success and an important part of a comprehensive security policy”. The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine has increased the urgency to invest in energy sovereignty and independence from fossil fuels, Dröge said on Sunday evening. It is good and important that the federal government initiate many measures to get away from coal, oil and gas as quickly as possible, to reduce consumption and to invest in energy policy security.
