A child is said to have been killed in the bombing of a clinic complex in Mariupol, Ukraine. The Kremlin announces an investigation: They have “no precise information” about what happened there.
According to the city’s deputy mayor, three people died in the suspected Russian attack on a maternity clinic in Mariupol, Ukraine. A child was among the dead, Deputy Mayor Sergei Orlov told the British broadcaster BBC.
Ukrainian authorities had previously announced that 17 people were injured in the attack, including pregnant women.
Ukraine blames Russia for the attack. President Volodymyr Zelenskyj published a video on Twitter that is said to show the completely devastated rooms of the clinic. Accordingly, one or more projectiles or bombs must have hit the courtyard of the clinic complex.
The Kremlin in Moscow announced an investigation. “We will ask our military because we have no precise information about what happened there,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the Interfax agency.
