India accidentally fired a missile at Pakistan, according to government sources. The reason was a technical breakdown during routine maintenance work, said the Ministry of Defense in New Delhi.
The incident is therefore deeply regrettable, but it is also a relief that there were no fatalities in the accident on Wednesday. The Indian government has ordered an investigation.

The flying supersonic object destroyed civilian property and endangered aircraft in Pakistani airspace, which could have led to a terrible accident, the ministry said.
