Ukraine war: Putin: “The special operation will be carried out to the end”

In a video conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about his war in Ukraine. He accuses the neighbors and the USA of conducting biological weapons experiments. He also attacks oligarchs living in the west.

Vladimir Putin’s words were a mixture of hate and conspiracy belief, of contempt and paranoia. Three weeks after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, addressed his ministers and the population. Although the head of the National Guard recently had to admit that the war is progressing more slowly than the Kremlin leadership had hoped, Putin is sticking to his unsupported story: “The special operation is going according to plan.” The aim is to “denazify” the neighboring country and end the alleged genocide in eastern Ukraine.

In essence, the Russian president continues to justify the invasion as a form of forward defense: “In a short period of time, the pro-Nazi regime in Kyiv could get its hands on weapons of mass destruction, and the target, of course, would have been Russia,” Putin said. He also made it clear how the mission he called “special operation” would continue: “It will be carried out to the end. The current format is the only possible one.” In other words, Putin’s war will not end anytime soon.

Putin speaks of bioweapons development

In his speech, the Russian President also explained why his troops are not only deployed in the Donbass, i.e. in the east of the country. Because the neighboring country would produce biological weapons with the support of the USA. According to Putin, “experiments were being carried out with African swine fever, cholera and the corona virus”. So far, there is no evidence that there is anything behind this claim. Just hours before Putin’s speech, the Russian Defense Ministry had accused Ukraine of preparing a false flag chemical weapons attack on civilians – and blamed it on Russia. Western secret services see these statements as an excuse for the Kremlin to use such weapons of mass destruction itself.

This time Putin was particularly detailed about the West and the oligarchs who live there. The “collective West” wants to split Russian society and “dismember” its country by trying to “erase” Russia by banning “Russian music, culture and literature.” But this will not succeed. On the contrary, he himself will “draw a line under the global dominance of the West.”

"детй" - "Children" - is clearly written in Cyrillic in front and behind the theater in Mariupol. However, the building was attacked.

Watch the video: Theater in Mariupol bombed – hundreds of civilians are said to have survived in the basement.

“scum and traitors”

According to Putin’s very own worldview, the West would deploy the “fifth column.” The term is used to describe people or groups who want to overthrow the existing system. The Russian President also includes those “who earn money here with us, but live there”. Say oligarchs in the West. He would not judge anyone who lives in Miami or on the French Riviera and cannot do without “foie gras, oysters or so-called gender freedoms”. For him, however, it is a problem “that many of these people, because of their nature, are mentally settled there and not here, not with our people, not with Russia”. “Every people, and especially the Russian people, will always be able to distinguish the true patriots from the scum and the traitors, and just spit them out like a mosquito that accidentally got into their mouth,” Putin said.

But the Kremlin boss didn’t just have poison and bile ready for his people. As a piece of candy, he announced an increase in social benefits and pensions by six percent. In view of the strong inflation, the gift is a bit puny, however. In the past few weeks alone, there have been price jumps of up to 100 percent. Officially, the inflation rate is 12.5 percent for the year as a whole.
