War in Ukraine: Russia uses hypersonic missile again

The Russian Air Force has deployed the Kinzhal hypersonic missile for the second day in a row. According to Moscow, the rockets can reach up to ten times the speed of sound.

The Russian military has again used the hypersonic missile “Kinzhal” (Dagger) and claims to have hit a fuel depot in southern Ukraine.

The military base in the Mykolayiv region was attacked from the airspace over Russia’s annexed Crimea, said Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.

“It was from this base that most of the fuel deliveries for Ukrainian armored vehicles were handled.” Kalibr cruise missiles also hit Ukrainian tank repair shops. The information could not be independently verified.

Yesterday, Russia reported for the first time since the beginning of the war about the use of its new ballistic air-to-surface missile “Kinzhal”. So far, the weapons have been used primarily for manoeuvres. According to Moscow, the “Kinzhal” rockets can reach up to ten times the speed of sound.

According to Russian information, more than 100 soldiers and mercenaries were killed in an attack on a training center of the Ukrainian special forces in the Zhytomyr region.
