US_President Joe Biden is leaving for his trip to Europe this Wednesday. He will be traveling without his spokeswoman, Jen Psaki. This has tested positive for the corona virus.
Before US President Joe Biden planned to travel to Europe because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, his spokeswoman Jen Psaki was again infected with the corona virus.
Psaki said she tested positive on Tuesday and will no longer accompany the President to Europe. Biden himself was also tested on Tuesday, his PCR test was negative. She had two meetings with the President on Monday, but kept her distance. According to the guidelines of the health authority CDC, Biden is therefore not considered a “close contact”.
Only mild symptoms
Psaki’s message also said that thanks to the vaccination, she only had mild symptoms. She will work from home and plans to return to work in person after a five-day isolation period and a negative test. Psaki had already contracted Covid last fall. At the time, she had stated that she had only mild symptoms.
Biden is leaving for his trip to Europe this Wednesday. Among other things, a NATO crisis summit in Brussels and a visit to Warsaw are on the agenda there. Biden will initially attend the summits of NATO, the EU and the leading democratic economic powers (G7) in Brussels on Thursday. Biden will continue to Warsaw on Friday. A bilateral meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda is planned there for Saturday. It is Biden’s third trip to Europe since taking office in January 2021.
