Russian invasion: Moscow: 1351 Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine

According to official information from Moscow, 1,351 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine so far. However, experts assume a significantly higher number.

According to the Russian General Staff, 1,351 Russian soldiers were killed in the war in Ukraine. According to the military agency Interfax in Moscow, 3,825 soldiers were injured in the “special operation”.

These are the first official figures since the beginning of March, when the number of 498 soldiers killed was given. However, experts assume several thousand dead Russian soldiers, Ukraine speaks of 16,000 Russian soldiers killed. None of this information can be independently verified.

On the Ukrainian side, 14,000 soldiers were killed and 16,000 others injured, according to Moscow. Again, these figures could not be independently verified. Ukraine itself last spoke of around 1,300 soldiers killed in its own ranks on March 12.

The Russian General Staff announced that it would continue the attacks in Ukraine “until the tasks set by the Commander-in-Chief are fully accomplished”. The tasks of a “first stage” have already been largely fulfilled, it said.

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin launched a war of aggression against neighboring Ukraine on February 24 as commander-in-chief. According to international experts, the Russians have achieved far less militarily than planned after a month.
