More than 2.3 million refugees have arrived in Poland since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine began. In Germany, the federal police counts almost 280,000 refugees.
According to the border guards, more than 2.3 million refugees from the neighboring country have arrived in Poland since the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. This was announced by the authority on Twitter.
So yesterday alone there were around 27,000 people. This is a decrease of 13.3 percent compared to the previous day. Since the war began on February 24, 352,000 people have crossed the border from Poland to Ukraine. According to earlier information from the border guard, the majority of these travelers are Ukrainian citizens who are returning to their home country. Many men, but also women, want to join the Ukrainian troops there. Others go back to look after children or dependents in need.
There is currently no official information on how many of the war refugees stayed in Poland and how many have already traveled on to other EU countries.
Almost 280,000 counted war refugees in Germany
The federal police have so far identified 272,338 war refugees from Ukraine. This was announced by the Federal Ministry of the Interior in Berlin. Since there are no fixed border controls, the number of refugees from Ukraine in Germany is likely to be significantly higher.
