On the one hand there are the refugees who have chronic illnesses and need permanent treatment and on the other hand there are wounded/war wounded people who need hospital treatment. In her eyes, it is important to keep the bureaucracy to a minimum. “It can’t be that doctors have to deal with paperwork and are burdened by it instead of having time for the patients,” says Johna. For example, the refugees could be given a special electronic health card that would then enable uncomplicated treatment. They were already used in the refugee crisis of 2015. The Marburger Bund would like all federal states to join this project. In general, there will now be a higher burden, for example in the hospitals, than already due to . But they want to face this task with all their might, because the health care of Ukrainian patients is important. With regard to the corona vaccination status, it is assumed that only a third are vaccinated. This must now be organized quickly – including vaccinations against measles!
Tomorrow the Marburger Bund is calling for a strike in municipal hospitals. The demand: More money, two free weekends per month and a maximum of four on-call shifts. The burden is enormous at the moment. You can see an increasing number of corona patients again, at the same time there are also patients from Ukraine. There was a corona subsidy for nurses, but not for doctors. They now want relief – above all to ensure good patient care in the long term. Otherwise there could be a risk of doctors leaving. You can already see that many doctors work part-time because the workload would otherwise be too great. If the Corona rules are now dropped, Dr. Johna that there will be more patients again, especially since more older people are being observed who have to go to the hospital with Corona. She calls on the federal states to make use of the hotspot regulation and to voluntarily wear the mask indoors – at least for the next 2-3 weeks.
