On the mend: EKD boss Kurschus has tested positive for the corona virus. Your planned Easter services fall through the water.
The chairwoman of the council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), Annette Kurschus, had to cancel planned Easter services with her because of a corona infection.
The Evangelical Church of Westphalia announced that Kurschus had tested positive for Corona “immediately before the Easter holidays”.
Kurschus wanted to preach on Easter Sunday in the Bethel Zionskirche – where television crews would also have announced. “And she was looking forward to her sermon at a cantata service in the old town Nicolaikirche in Bielefeld on Easter Monday,” said the message.
Ultimately, however, Kurschus had to replace the pulpit with quarantine: “Annette Kurschus was plagued by severe symptoms of illness, but she is now on the mend.” Kurschus is also President of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia.
