Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) had only received proposals for an extensive end to the officially ordered isolation requirement for infected people at the beginning of April after a wave of criticism. This would “send the wrong signal psychologically” and be understood as a step towards relaxation. The health authorities should therefore continue to order isolation, only no longer the quarantine for contact persons of infected people. The duration of the secretions should also be reduced to five days. The ministry had announced a new proposal to the federal states.
