In the chat, Zelenskyj also revealed what he and his country expect from the Chancellor and Germany. “You see, Russia earns a billion dollars a day with the help of its energy supplies. How can we say that we will only stop oil and gas imports in four months or a year?” said the head of state about the EU plans, the embargo for Russian oil to start in late 2022. “You can’t impose sanctions with your right hand and sign treaties with your left hand.”

In principle, the Ukrainian President is now satisfied with the actions of the EU, USA and Great Britain. “At least now we have a sanctions policy and we are in the situation where we should have been from the start.” Zelenskyy admitted that the oil embargo could lead to difficulties in some countries, but at the same time warned against doing nothing “because then the rockets would eventually hit your countries”.
In general, Volodymyr Zelenskyy seems to have no hope that Russia will stop its expansion: “Everything the Russians talk about, they do, they implement their threats,” said the president gloomily.
