The deputy chairman of the Union faction in the Bundestag, Sepp Müller, has sharply criticized China’s corona strategy. At the same time, he asked Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) for more information.
“In China, cities with over a million inhabitants are once again being cordoned off, people locked up, although the “zero Covid strategy” has apparently failed,” said the CDU politician to the German Press Agency in Berlin.

Müller asked Lauterbach for clarification as to whether Shanghai was dealing with a new, more deadly variant of the corona virus. The metropolis has been in a strict lockdown for more than six weeks, millions of people are still locked in their homes.
The CDU politician also asked if the vaccination breakthroughs were due to the Chinese vaccine and if Germany was offering China surplus mRNA vaccine like Biontech/Pfizer’s to help people there.
