State election: FDP Federal Vice Kubicki for Jamaica new edition in the north

After the election triumph in Schleswig-Holstein, the CDU could do without one of its previous coalition partners. But does she want that? FDP federal vice president Kubicki is calling for a new version of the old government.

Schleswig-Holstein’s former FDP parliamentary group leader and FDP federal deputy Wolfgang Kubicki has campaigned for a new edition of the Jamaica coalition in the north.

“Daniel Günther’s idea of continuing Jamaica is charming,” Kubicki told the “Kieler Nachrichten”. The Liberals are expressly ready to do so. “We have always stated that we will not participate if we are not needed. But when in doubt, the Greens are needed just as much or as little as we are.”

It’s also about Günther’s popularity

In favor of a continuation of the alliance between the CDU, the Greens and the FDP, the fact that sensible politics had obviously been made in Schleswig-Holstein beyond the political trench warfare, said Kubicki. “If one of the partners left and Jamaica was not continued, there would be a little more dissatisfaction – by the way, also with regard to the popularity of the prime minister.”

Election winner Daniel Günther remains Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein. Here he is hearted by party colleague Hans-Jörn Arp.

The North CDU wants to analyze their clear success in the state elections at a small party conference in Kiel in the evening (6 p.m.). With 43.4 percent, Prime Minister Günther’s party was the strongest force. Already on Monday, Günther had agreed on exploratory talks with the Greens and FDP for Tuesday next week. However, he expressly left open the option of relaunching the government alliance.

Kubicki wants to take part in exploratory talks

He will be present at the exploratory talks on Tuesday, said Kubicki. “From my point of view, there is also a lot to be said for black and yellow, because we decide on the issue of prosperity and how efficient our society is.” That is only possible with a functioning economy and a functioning settlement policy.
