Surveys: Large majority for special requirements for unvaccinated people

Special requirements for unvaccinated people – a majority of German citizens can gather behind this measure, according to current opinion polls. However, most of them do not believe in a general compulsory vaccination.

According to current opinion polls, a large majority of German citizens advocate imposing special restrictions on people who have not been vaccinated in the future. In a Forsa survey published on Thursday by RTL, 69 percent of those questioned supported contact restrictions for this group. Only 28 percent think that is not right.

According to the survey, more than half of the citizens (55 percent) think it is right if only fully vaccinated and convalescents are allowed in restaurants, cinemas, theaters or other leisure facilities in the future. 41 percent don’t think that’s right. The majority of those under 30, the unvaccinated and supporters of the AfD spoke out against such access restrictions.

A large majority of 77 percent of those surveyed would also think it was right if people who do not want to be vaccinated have to pay for a corona test themselves in the future. Only 20 percent think that is not right.

No majority for general compulsory vaccination

A general obligation to vaccinate against Corona for all citizens continues to be rejected by a majority of German citizens. The proportion of those who oppose a general vaccination requirement has fallen from 77 to 63 percent since the end of June, while the proportion of those who support it has increased from 22 to 34 percent.

In a further survey published by the “Augsburger Allgemeine” by the opinion research institute Civey, as many as 72.8 percent of those questioned said that those who were vaccinated should have more rights than those who had not been vaccinated. 22.4 percent saw it differently, the rest were undecided. Accordingly, more than half of the respondents even “definitely” demand more freedom for those who have been completely vaccinated compared to unprotected people.

There are also differences here between the supporters: inside the individual parties: while almost two thirds of AfD voters refused to treat vaccinated and unvaccinated people unequally, there are more than 80 each in the political camps of the Union, SPD and Greens Percent in favor of giving back more rights to those who have been vaccinated.
