The decisions of the MPK are out, but what does that mean for us now? “Today important” host Michel Abdollahi analyzes the results with ntv reporter Nadine to Roxel and the virologist Martin Stürmer.
It will be uncomfortable for the unvaccinated, not immediately, but from October 11th. Then they should pay for the rapid test themselves. “This is a variant of politics, in addition to appeals to put pressure on unvaccinated people,” says ntv reporter Nadine to Roxel. But with the conversion to paid tests, fewer and fewer people, including those who have been vaccinated, will be tested regularly. And that carries risks, because: “It is not impossible to get infected again with Sars-Cov-2 despite having been vaccinated twice,” says virologist Martin Stürmer.
Rapid tests are also important for vaccinated people
If a person becomes ill with corona despite having had a double vaccination and also develops symptoms, this is known as a vaccination breakthrough. This is what happened to the 23-year-old Fedor, who is infected with the Delta variant despite being vaccinated. In “Today important”, Fedor talks about how he is doing – and his example shows why rapid tests are also important for people who have been vaccinated twice.
