French President Emmanuel Macron said “massacres and war crimes” were committed in Irpin. It is a heroic city marked by the stigmata of barbarism. Alongside Bucha, Irpin is one of the suburbs of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv where Russian soldiers are said to have committed atrocities against the civilian population.
