A 7-point plan is intended to help break the current summer wave and the expected autumn wave of corona infections. Health Minister Karl Lauterbach presented the concept together with the Vice President of the Robert Koch Institute, Professor Lars Schaade, in Berlin on Friday.
The reason why the corona situation has not eased despite the summery weather is, in addition to the omission of all corona measures, above all the heat resistance of the new Omikron variants BA.4 and BA.5. According to Lauterbach, the development of the number of cases must be taken seriously, but “alarm” is not necessary. The new variants are very contagious, but less dangerous than earlier ones.
