“Different life situation for non-vaccinated people”

The vaccinated will find a different life situation than the non-vaccinated,” stressed Hacker. “If the number of infections increases, and they will increase at the beginning of school, then, for example, unvaccinated teachers will teach with masks.” The model calculations of the city of Vienna assume a sharp increase in the number of infections in the second half of September, said Hackers’ office at the APA. The fourth wave will really come when the schools open and the weather gets worse again, so the warning.
Leisure facilities only for vaccinated people
Regarding the planned entry bans for unvaccinated people, the city council said to the “Krone”: “Better only vaccinated people have access than closures. Nobody wants to see a lockdown anymore. It makes sense if leisure and sports facilities introduce this now.”
If the federal government does not implement this, a special way is conceivable again in Vienna: “The federal government must announce the new rules from September next week,” said Hacker, referring to the ordinance of Health Minister Wolfgang Mckstein (Grne), which expires on August 31. If there are no tougher nationwide measures, the federal capital could go it alone again: “Mayor Michael Ludwig and I agree. Our task is to protect our city,” said Hacker.
Most of the infected are unvaccinated
85 percent of the current infection rate in Vienna can be traced back to those people who have not been vaccinated at all or only once (in detail: 74 percent unvaccinated, 11 percent vaccinated once, 15 percent vaccinated twice). There are hardly any corona patients who are immunized in the hospitals. “Those are the hard facts! The most effective measure is vaccination,” said Hacker. The vaccination rates in the upper age groups are “halfway satisfactory,” said his office. Nonetheless, the number of unvaccinated people in these age groups is sufficient to fill the hospitals again and to bring them to their limit – namely when many younger people (unvaccinated) become infected. Because there are “unbelievably many points of contact” in older (unvaccinated) vintages.
The city is already recording slight exponential growth and a worse starting position than it was a year ago today. The Vienna incidence has risen by 40.1 percent in the past two weeks. “We see in America, how the hospitals in states with a bad vaccination coverage go under,” warned Hacker.
