Now that the delta variant of the coronavirus has also become dominant in this country, Great Britain, Russia, South Africa, India, Nepal, Botswana and Zambia are being removed from the list of virus variant areas. This lifts the entry ban. Completely vaccinated persons do not have to quarantine when entering Austria.
Returning travelers and holidaymakers from the UK and other countries must provide 3G proof and register when entering the country on Sunday or later. Those who are not fully vaccinated also have to go into a ten-day quarantine, free testing is possible from the fifth day at the earliest. For children and adolescents under 18 years of age, the quarantine regulations of the adults accompanying them apply.
From Sunday there will also be relief when entering from the Netherlands. A 3-G certificate is sufficient for entry – also by air. Since August 3rd, travelers and holidaymakers from the Netherlands who were not fully vaccinated had to present a negative PCR test when they arrived at Austrian airports. The additional requirements remain in place for Spain and Cyprus.
