The rules for vaccinated people to get a “Green Passport” have been tightened since Sunday. If you want to visit a pub, a hairdressing salon, a hotel or a dance school, you now need more than one vaccination. The “Green Pass” is now – in addition to those who have been tested and recovered – only for those who have been completely vaccinated.
In addition to those who have already been fully immunized, those who have recovered from Covid and who have only been vaccinated once are considered fully vaccinated. In the vaccination certificate for people who have been vaccinated twice, it reads “2/2”, for those who have recovered with one vaccination, the previous mark “1/2” is replaced by “1/1”.
However, a single vaccination is no longer sufficient for the 3G regulation unless one has been vaccinated with the single vaccine from Johnson & Johnson.
Increasing numbers of infections
The fourth wave continues to pick up speed: On Sunday, 891 new corona infections across Austria were again reported above the seven-day average of 807. While the number of hospital patients rose by over 50 percent to 225 within a week, the number of vaccinations reported has halved. 12,544 vaccinations were carried out on Saturday, a week ago this value was 26,774. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 5,390,365 have already received at least one partial vaccination: that is 60.3 percent of the population. 4,987,968 and thus 55.8 percent of Austrians are already fully immunized.
55 Intensivpatienten
55 people are being cared for in intensive care units, 15 more than last Sunday. The number of active cases rose to 8,559. There have been two deaths since yesterday, six in the course of the week. The highest vaccination coverage (vaccinated at least once) has so far been achieved in Burgenland with 67.5 percent, the lowest in Upper Austria, where it is 56 percent. These numbers refer to Saturday. The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Vienna with 84.5, followed by Salzburg, Vorarlberg and Tyrol (79.9, 73.4 and 69.7). According to AGES, the incidence in Upper Austria is currently 67.2.
Vienna’s City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SP) called in an interview at the weekend to further tighten the measures for unvaccinated people. “There will be no avoiding the fact that only more vaccinated people come in,” he called for strict restrictions on, for example, leisure facilities.
