With the decision of the Erfurt party congress, the party leadership around the chairwoman Janine Wissler prevailed against a group around the member of the Bundestag Sahra Wagenknecht. This wanted to emphasize NATO’s joint responsibility in the run-up to the Ukraine war.
Party program demands the dissolution of NATO

Moscow is trying to “establish authoritarian vassal regimes under post-Soviet states or – where this does not succeed – to destabilize the states”. Russia is “one of the geostrategic power centers in fossil capitalism”.
This motion also criticizes NATO for “thinking in geopolitical zones of influence and an arms race, especially between NATO, Russia and China”. The 100 billion euro program for the Bundeswehr is again condemned, arms deliveries to Ukraine are rejected.
