The number of infections is increasing. In order not to make it “super easy” for the virus, you should now wear a mask indoors, the health expert demands. Voluntarily.
Green health expert Janosch Dahmen has called for masks to be worn indoors in view of the increasing number of corona infections.
At the moment, mouth and nose protection is often no longer worn indoors, which makes it “super easy” for the virus, said Dahmen in the ARD “Morgenmagazin”. In addition to the necessary legal basis for autumn, which is currently being developed, masks should therefore already be worn voluntarily indoors, warned Dahmen.
The Green politician emphasized that everyone in their environment currently knows people who are sick. You can see that there is a lack of staff in hospitals. Some summer vacations are also in danger because airline employees are absent.
Fourth vaccination under discussion
Dahmen also called for a campaign in the summer for second booster vaccinations. These should not only be carried out for people over the age of 70, but also across the board for people over the age of 60 and with previous illnesses. It should also be checked whether all adults should not receive this fourth vaccination in order to be better protected in autumn with “fresh vaccination protection” than in previous years.
The number of infections has risen sharply in recent weeks. On Tuesday, the Robert Koch Institute gave the official number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days as 687.7. The previous day the value was 650.7 (previous week: 635.8; previous month: 257.6). Experts estimate the actual number to be about twice as high because many infected people no longer do a PCR test and are therefore not recorded.
