Chega’s vote of no confidence in the government was defeated in the plenary session of the Assembly of the Republic this Wednesday with 133 votes against, 80 abstentions and 12 votes in favor (all from Chega).
Only Chega voted in favor of this vote of no confidence in the government, SDP and IL abstained, while PS, PCP, BE, PAN and Livre voted against.
André Ventura’s party’s proposal was entitled “to put an end to the constant deterioration of confidence in the government and the chronic impoverishment of the Portuguese”.
O the discussion was marked by strong attacks from André Ventura’s party to Health Minister Marta Temido and Pedro Nuno Santos, Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, a government official whom Chega asked for his resignation after the controversy over the departure of the Montijo and Alcochete airports.
