Several British media outlets have reported that a group of ministers are planning to meet with Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday and tell him he must step down.
According to BBC this is Daily TelegraphAmong others, Northern Ireland Minister Brandon Lewis, Transport Minister Grant Shapps and Wales Minister Simon Hart are among those preparing to intervene.
The initiative comes after a series of layoffs over the past 24 hours of an estimated more than 30 government members, including ministers, secretaries of state, aides and other advisers.
In a hearing before the Liaison Committee, made up of the chairmen of various parliamentary committees, Johnson reaffirmed his determination to “keep going” despite a growing number of disgruntled Conservative MPs.
On the other hand, he stated that he did not intend to dissolve parliament and call early elections to try to overcome this crisis.
