EDF, in which the state owns more than 80% of the shares, is facing budget delays and overbudgets at new nuclear power plants in France and the UK, as well as corrosion problems in some of its aging reactors, which have hit their share price hard in recent months. .

The possibility of nationalization of EDF was announced by President Emmanuel Macron, who intends to make the company the main source of large-scale investments in new nuclear reactors.

The Prime Minister did not provide details of the process.
