NSU terror: verdict against Beate Zschpe confirmed

The German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) rejected their appeal in writing and only deleted a single penalty, as the Karlsruhe court announced yesterday. “The total life imprisonment and the determined severity of guilt have remained unaffected by this.”

Zschpe had lived underground with her friends Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Bhnhardt for 14 years. During this time, the men murdered eight Turkish and one Greek entrepreneurs and a policewoman. In 2011 they committed suicide to avoid arrest. Zschpe set fire to the apartment they shared, sent a video of confession and turned himself in.

The judgments against the NSU supporters Ralf Wohlleben and Holger G. are also final. Wohlleben was sentenced to ten years imprisonment for aiding and abetting murder, G. was sentenced to three years imprisonment for supporting a terrorist organization.
