Armin Laschet is on the decline in the polls: According to the current ARD Germany trend, only 16 percent want the CDU party chairman to be the next Federal Chancellor. Criticism of Laschet is also growing again within its own ranks.

Laschet began to falter and apparently had no answer ready spontaneously: “Yeah, what else are we going to do …”
Laschet is once again not looking good – in the election campaign the allegations that he has little to offer in terms of content are now all the louder. The excerpt spread quickly on social media, often combined with calls not to elect the CDU chief as chancellor. The deputy leader of the SPD parliamentary group, Sören Bartol, described Laschet as “completely clueless”.
In an interview, Laschet announced that he wanted to set up a hundred-day program for his chancellorship “in good time” – but will that be enough for the voters in the federal elections in a good five weeks? Laschet’s competitor Olaf Scholz is currently pulling past the polls: 41 percent would choose the SPD candidate in a direct election, according to the German trend.
