The PS National Commission meets this Saturday in Ilhavo, Aveiro region, to analyze the political situation and approve the calendar of federative congresses for 2022.
The meeting was scheduled for last Saturday but was postponed because it coincided with the National Congress of the SDP, which took place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Porto and consecrated Luis Montenegro as the new president of the Social Democrats.
According to the agenda of this meeting of the supreme body of the socialists between congresses, an “analysis of the political situation” will be carried out and Secretary General António Costa will speak.
This meeting, convened by party president Carlos Cesar, is also expected to approve the Report and reports for 2021, as well as the calendar of federation congresses for 2022 and the rules for the election of presidents of the federations and delegates to the federative congresses.
“The Regulations on the Elections of Presidents and Political Commissions of the Federal Structures of the Socialist Equality of Women and Rights (MS-ID) will also be approved, as well as the discussion of the proposal to recommend the timing of elections to the Political Commissions of districts and sections and municipal structures of MS-ID,” the statement reads. published note.
According to the party’s charter, the National Commission is the supreme deliberative body of the PS between congresses, “it is responsible for establishing the line of action of the party, namely in the field of its political activity and ensuring its application.”
