Some areas of the municipalities of Cascais, Oeiras and Sintra were affected by the power outage, which began late on Friday evening, but the supply has already been restored, a source from E-Redes said.
According to CM with the Parede fire department, the problem arose due to an explosion followed by a fire at the EDP Trajouce substation in San Domingos de Rana.
“The incident has been resolved and the E-Redes teams are performing all necessary maneuvers to stabilize the power grid in certain areas,” the former EDP Distribuição said in a statement.
According to the company, the accident happened around 7 p.m.
The company added that at the time of the breakdown, it was evaluating “possible solutions and supply alternatives.”
