British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab is coming under increasing pressure because of his behavior in the Afghanistan crisis.
The conservative politician is accused of continuing to vacation on the Greek island of Crete despite the takeover of power by the militant Islamist Taliban in practically all of Afghanistan.
Raab is also reported to have declined to make an urgent phone call with the Afghan Foreign Minister about the evacuation of local workers who had been helping British agencies for years.
Raab did not return to London until Monday after the militant Islamist Taliban also took control of the capital Kabul. Prior to this, high-ranking diplomats had asked him in vain for days to make the call, as reported by the British media. The opposition is now demanding his resignation. According to reports on Friday, Raab is also losing support within the ruling Tory party and his own ministry.
