Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann has been infected with the corona virus. “Unfortunately, I tested positive for Corona,” said the FDP politician on Twitter.
He informed the responsible authorities and is now in domestic isolation. “Fortunately, and probably also thanks to the vaccinations, there have only been mild symptoms so far,” wrote the minister. The ministry said Buschmann was working from home. For the FDP politician it is the first corona infection.
When evaluating government measures to contain the pandemic, Buschmann had always emphasized that the principle of proportionality had to be observed. At the beginning of July he said: “Even measures with a comparatively low level of intervention, such as wearing a mask, must be able to be carefully justified in the rule of law.”
From the cabinet, Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) had recently tested positive for Corona. A spokeswoman said on Wednesday that he was therefore doing his official business from home.
