Donald Trump and Elon Musk fight verbal battles with insults

You can’t say anything when your name is Donald Trump or Elon Musk. A war of words has developed between the two alphas over Musk’s failed Twitter purchase. The two don’t give each other anything.

Donald Trump couldn’t let that sit. In several postings on his own social media channel Truth Social, the ex-US President responded to an insult by Tesla and SpaceX mastermind Elon Musk. Earlier this week he tweeted “good advice” to Trump: “It’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail into the sunset.” Musk was responding to a statement made by Trump during a performance in Alaska. There the 76-year-old had described the Tesla boss as “another bullshit artist”. The reason: Musk said he never voted for the Republicans. “This is new to me. He told me he voted for me,” Trump said.

The ex-president and the business boss are currently entertaining the US public with their public battle of the alpha animals. Trump, of course, responded to Musk’s “farewell tweet.” He did so in the same manner that he had shown time and again during his tenure. First he told the Tesla manager to put his own house in order, then the ex-president complained that Musk had probably forgotten how much he owed him.

Donald Trump on Elon Musk: He would have knelt in front of me

“When Elon Musk came to the White House and asked me for help with all of his many subsidized projects, be it electric cars that don’t last long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rockets to nowhere that would have been worthless without subsidies, and… when he told me he was a huge Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, ‘Get on your knees and beg, and he would have done it,'” Trump claimed in his posts. And he lets his words resonate that Musk would never have achieved his immense successes without Trump’s help.

Otherwise, Musk should rather see that he comes out of the potentially expensive legal dispute with Twitter reasonably well, Trump posted. The social media platform sued Musk after he canceled a $44 million deal to buy the short message service.

Elon Musk on Donald Trump: “I don’t hate the man”

Musk, on the other hand, is much more relaxed. “I don’t hate the man,” he said ahead of his advice that Trump should now take his hat off. But one should no longer give the man such great attention. “The Democrats should also call off their attacks,” Musk said. They shouldn’t take it to the point that Trump’s only way of “surviving” is to go back to the presidency.

Musk complained in another tweet that there was “just too much drama” with Trump. “Do we really want an elephant-in-a-china-store situation every day?” he asks. The Tesla boss does not give the Democrats a chance in the next presidential elections, even without a Trump candidacy. Should Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida and currently the biggest favorite alongside Trump for the candidacy for the White House, compete against Joe Biden, he will easily win. “He doesn’t even need to campaign,” Musk believes.

And then, in view of the advanced age of most leading politicians in Washington, he adds: “I think the legal maximum age for the beginning of a presidential term should be 69.”
