Chega presents a resolution on censorship of the Chairman of the Assembly of the Republic

The Chega Party submitted a resolution of reprimand to the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva.

In a statement, the party explains that what is at stake is a lack of “impartiality and indemnification necessary for the exercise of office.”

“The recent refusal to schedule an emergency debate over the fires is just the latest of several incidents that have already marked this legislature and the actions of Augusto Santos Silva regarding the CHEGA party,” the statement said.

In statements to CMAndré Ventura, leader of the party, stated that the document “is a kind of vote of no confidence, not in the government, but in the President of the Assembly of the Republic”.

The party also accuses the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan of failing to pass Cheg’s bill three times, “once to lift the immunity of deputies for the purpose of testifying or accusing, another for life imprisonment and another for raising the maximum sentence to 65 years.”
