The announcement of Donald Trump’s re-election to the US presidency in 2024 is expected soon, between the end of the public hearings on the storming of the Capitol, in which he is the main target, and the midterm elections in November.
Sources close to the former president told the New York Times that Trump believes the re-election will divert media attention from the January 6 robbery hearing. The Washington Post quotes two advisers that Trump intends to announce as early as September.
Among the various factors influencing the decision is also the low popularity of Joe Biden, which is 38.7%. But the call to vote again ahead of the election could be negative, giving Democrats an opportunity to galvanize anti-Trump voters.
