Costa believes that a deep reform of the state is underway

The prime minister said this Wednesday that his government is pushing for a deep reform of the state, citing the recent decentralization agreement, a future package of measures to reduce bureaucracy and increasing the value of highly skilled technicians as examples.

This position was supported by António Costa in his speech, which opened the parliamentary debate on the state of the nation, in part of the speech, which he devoted to the path of the country in the medium and long term.

The leader of the executive branch indicated as goals by the end of the decade “to free 765,000 people from the risk of poverty and social exclusion, to guarantee 50% of university graduates among young people aged 30 to 34, at least 3% of GDP for research and development, to ensure so that 80% of the electricity consumed in 2026 comes from renewable sources, and by 2030, increase exports to 53% of GDP.”
