86 patients were treated in an intensive care unit across Austria for Covid-19 on Wednesday. The Covid forecasting consortium assumes that intensive care patients will double in the next two weeks.
“We have to talk about measures,” affirmed Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) at a press conference at the start of school (see page 2), his call for tightening. His proposal to reintroduce the mask requirement “wherever the 3-G rule does not apply” lies with the coalition partner, he said.
He also sees his announcement coming closer, at least in some areas only to vaccinated people (1 G): “It will go in this direction, we will identify places with a particularly high risk,” he first mentioned night gastronomy.
