Classical star Igor Levit, 34, likes to get involved in political debates with enthusiasm – and does not want to hold back before the general election on September 26th. “I can’t go into the details yet because I’m not ready – but be sure I will take part in the last few weeks of the election campaign as I can and as it feels right,” he announced Professor for piano from the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in an interview with the German Press Agency in Berlin.
Levit, who has been enjoying great success with record buyers and critics since 2019, among other things with the complete recording of the Beethoven sonatas, has a clear preference for the election: “As far as my membership in the Greens is concerned – it’s no secret, I’m completely transparent. “

Levit had recently taken several positions against positions of the CDU / CSU, FDP and AfD, the polls of the Greens have been weaker for weeks.
