According to IPMA, Bragança and Braga are under red notice until 18:00 and 09:00 Monday respectively due to the persistence of very high maximum temperatures.

According to the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), Castelo Branco is under orange alert until 6pm Monday, while Vila Real and Guarda are on until 6pm Tuesday, with the rest of the mainland under yellow. warning, except for Faro, which is the only area currently on a green warning.

A red warning, the first in severity on a three-point scale, is issued by IPMA whenever an extreme risk meteorological situation occurs, and an orange warning, the second most severe, is issued for a moderate to high risk meteorological situation, yellow, the least severe, warns of the presence of a risk for certain activities depending on weather conditions.

IPMA has already warned of a sharp rise in temperatures this weekend, which could be high in the interior regions of the north, center and Alentejo.

According to the institute, rural fire risk will remain at its highest in the north and central part of the continent until at least Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Administration (ANEPC) also issued a fire warning to the public until Monday due to expected high temperatures and low levels of humidity, calling for preventive behaviour.

To date, IPMA is predicting continued hot weather on the continent with little or no cloudiness, with periods of more cloudiness in the western coastal strip and afternoons in the northern and central interior, in addition to a slight increase in temperature.
