Fernande Gomes turned 43 this Saturday and was driving from Lyon, France to Ucha in Barcelos to celebrate her birthday when the car she was driving crashed, killing her.

At 7:20 on the A52 highway in Zamora, a BMW crashed, driven by her daughter’s boyfriend, and the woman died. Fernanda was in the back seat. His daughter and son-in-law’s mother were still in the car.

According to the newspaper Zamora 24 hours, the car in which there was a 43-year-old woman turned over several times. The death victim’s daughter and her boyfriend, both in their 20s, were still in the car. There was also a relative of Fernanda Gomes’ son-in-law. All of them were treated on the spot, three received minor injuries.

Death was pronounced on the spot.

It was on this highway that two brothers, 24-year-old José Moreira and 17-year-old Arlindo, who were traveling with their father seriously injured in an accident, died in Portugal.
