The fire in Urem broke out this afternoon at 2:51 p.m. in Formigal, in Union Freguesias Mata e Cercal, not far from another fire that broke out on Sunday and mobilized a large amount of funds before moving to liquidation in the early hours of this Monday .
According to the ANEPC website, there were 386 operational personnel on the ground at Formigal at 22:15, supported by 119 vehicles.
A few kilometers away in Serrada, in the parish of Karangeheira, municipality of Leiria, a fire broke out at 15:14.
This fire was also considered under control, but at 22:15 161 firefighters continued to be mobilized, supported by 50 ground assets.
In the afternoon, the adviser responsible for the civil protection of Camara de Leiria, Luis López, told Luza that “there were never any houses in danger” and that the fire was heading towards the area that burned down in July.
