This Monday, Porto Editora said in a clarification provided by the Santiago Group that it will fix after recent press release by V. Guimarãesa text relating to the Marega case is included in a 10th grade philosophy textbook.

According to the clarification, the case was originally included in the Agora manual to “address the theme of moral subjectivity in order to lead students to critical reflection and take a stand based on news, current affairs and the media.” . The students were asked to “interpret the topic from a subjectivist point of view and, conversely, from a critical view of subjectivism.”

Porto Editora apologized for the fact that the authors of the manual called the supporters of V. Guimarães the authors of racist insults against Marega in February 2020, and the club has already been cleared of charges. “In this sense, we apologize to Vitória Sport Clube and Victorian fans, and we will continue to correct the text in school textbooks that have not yet been printed,” you can read.
