TVI/CNN Portugal Chief Information Officer Nuno Santos responded on TVI’s “Dois at 10” this morning: to statements made by host Duarte Siopa on “Manhã CM” about the departure of Judith Sousa from the channel.
Nuno Santos began by learning about the journalist’s departure from the media group through social media. “Yesterday we learned on social media that Judith has terminated her employment contract. It was new for us, we don’t have this information here, ”explained Nuno Santos.
In defense of his “team”, Nuno Santos explained that the channel was surprised by the news that the journalist had left the TVI and CNN Portugal universe.
“Judith has a service contract with TVI and CNN Portugal and is on sick leave at her request until August 11,” he said.
Regarding the information about the journalist who covered the Ukrainian war without insurance, the information director clarifies: “This is not true. Judit went to Lvov, Ukraine, apparently with insurance.” As to him being without access to money and without conditions during his time in the war, Nuno Santos says such claims are “not true”
“Judith chose the team she wanted to work with, she chose this group of people, and we on the board have been very supportive of her throughout this process. We cannot allow untruths and lies to be told in the public space about what is happening, he concluded.
