Putin’s youth: How the Kremlin boss wants to win over the youth

Vladimir Putin increasingly wants to take the education of young people into his own hands. According to the new Kremlin law, there will soon be an “all-Russian youth organization” – under the patronage of the Russian president himself.

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine at the latest, Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin is likely to have the feeling that he doesn’t have his citizens under control. At the beginning of May, only 55 percent supported the war in Ukraine. 29 percent called for a ceasefire. This contradicts the government’s claims that between 70 and 80 percent can rally behind Putin’s policies.

One thing in particular should bother the head of state about the survey figures: According to the survey, which was published in the business journal “RBC”, the under-30s have the greatest aversion to the war. While 63 percent of pensioners support Putin’s policies, students are among the biggest critics.
