Gerhard Schröder in an exclusive interview.
starEditor-in-chief Gregor Peter Schmitz and RTL political chief Nikolaus Blome meet the former chancellor in Hanover.
During the five-hour appointment in Schröder’s office, the 78-year-old former chancellor talks about Russian gas deliveries, among other things.
“There is no political announcement from the Kremlin to throttle the flow of gas. This is mainly a technical and bureaucratic problem, one on both sides, by the way. And one side passes the buck to the other.”
In the interview, the former chancellor also talks about Vladimir Putin, the war in Ukraine and his family.
“I consider this war a mistake by the Russian government. I also said that publicly. But I don’t have to play the outrage all the time, others can do that.”
