Minor complains about sexual harassment at the Southwest festival

A 17-year-old minor filed a sexual assault complaint allegedly targeted on Tuesday evening at the Meo Sudoeste campsite in Zambujeira do Mar, Odemira.

An official source from the GNR confirmed this Wednesday to the CM that there are reports of two cases of sex crimes, and there is only a formalized complaint record that concerns a 17-year-old girl.

In this case, said the same source, “the suspect was identified” and the case was referred to the SP. The participant of the festival told KM that the bullying took place in a tent where a minor was resting because of poor health. “When the friends returned, a boy came out of the tent, and they went to meet him, because the girl was crying and pulling up her shorts. He said he didn’t want that to happen,” he described, concluding that “then GNR representatives showed up and took the boy away.”

Meo Sudoeste started this Wednesday with the official line-up, but the campsite has been open since July 30th, with a theme party on Tuesday to welcome campers. The CM was confronted by the festival organization, who said they were unaware of the incident.
